GUI tools for blind galaxy: galaxyMapper ver 0.33
Tested on Tcl/Tk 8.0 for Linux, Solaris, Win98 and NT (screenshot from Linux)!

The galaxyMapper is a map which shows planets and calculates distances for a generic 2D galaxy. It is written in Tcl/TK to be portable and easily modified. The main window can be extended by adding plugins which interact with the map.

WARNING: The map rounds the limits to nearest multiple of ten. This will cause wrong distances for games with odd sizes (like Cronus).


The map can be panned/zoomed by using the scrollbars and z-buttons. Planets can be selected, shown with different colours, either by clicking on the map or by using a plugin. The selections can be saved between sessions.

My unreleased plugins are using a database. Currently only running on Sybase for Linux, but will be ported to a generic SQL db when I find a good one on Windows....
